Harlem Candle Company

"Ellington" luxury candle

$ 48

When Duke played Harlem for the first time back in 1927, his jazz was sizzling hot and his vibe was cooler than cool, and no one had ever heard anything like it. He infused the neighborhood and the world with a new kind of energy, and music was changed forever.

The Ellington candle pays loving tribute to this vibrant legend with top notes of juicy bergamot, tangy cinnamon and crisp clary sage, a luminous heart of Lily of the Valley, heady rose and fresh lavender, and a warm swinging base of spicy patchouli, crystalline amber and soft skin musk.

Mid: Lily of the Valley, Rose, Lavender

Bottom: Patchouli, Amber, Musk

This is a sophisticated aroma that fills the room and burns very elagantly against the black vessel.

Rekindling Fragrances

There is an alchemy at work in the creation of Harlem Candles. Someone once said that a smell is like a time machine that can take you back to the place were you first encountered it. Back in the late 50's early 60's my father got his first stereo. It was a really big deal; stereophonic sound. His friends on Saturday afternoon would come by and smoke, drink, and listen to Jazz (mostly Count Basie-sorry Duke) in my father's den. They would occasionally invite me in to hear the "sounds" their name for this beautiful, mystical music. The Ellington candle reminds me of that Den back then.
